Many maps that came from the original Battlefront were edited and improved, like the Naboo battlefield. The storyline spans more than 16 new locations, many from Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, including volcanic Mustafar and the space battle above Coruscant. It is a story-based campaign which revolves around the 501st Legion as the unit evolves from the Old Republic Clone Troopers to Imperial stormtroopers. The release date coincided with the release of Revenge of the Sith on DVD.īattlefront II expands upon the original game's single-player experience with mission-based objectives drawn from Star Wars Episodes I through VI. There are several differences between Battlefront II and the original Star Wars: Battlefront, such as playable Jedi characters, new unit classes, space battles, and story campaigns, as well as Episode III content. It is the second game of the highly successful Star Wars: Battlefront Series. I for one, can't wait.Star Wars: Battlefront II is a first-person shooter/third-person shooter (interchangeable) video game developed by Pandemic Studios and LucasArts, and released, in North America, on November 1, 2005, for Microsoft Windows, Xbox, PlayStation Portable, and the PlayStation 2.

Don't forget, this is not a sequel, but a reboot. The only thing I hope they include 3rd person for, is when you control your hero (assuming they've kept those). And truth be told, it will sell more with new gamers and people who want an experience like me, than with just the old fans that want Battlefront 3. They have to not only pull the old fans, but new gamers. Plain and simple, and you will end up screwing those of us that want more. Because if they basically make what you guys want, the game will bomb. And to those saying they don't want battlefield star wars, what do you think battlefront was trying to copy? Battlefield 2. Closest being Republic Commando (give us a sequel for god's sake). Because we haven't seen that kind of action yet set in SW games. Like the battle on Utapau between the clones and the droids. So yeah, I want 64 or more player Battlefield with an authentic SW skin and the destruction level of BC2. And makes you feel more immersed in what's going on. IMO first person view does that way more justice. I want an intense star wars ground combat experience, with realistic looking guns and characters, the buildings and ground exploding around me as I'm sprinting to cover, Imperial walkers stomping around, ties and x wings duking it over head.

And the first person view felt kind of static. But it always felt a bit detached and arcade like, specially number 2. And I still play Battlefront 1 (the better of the 2 for infantry combat and maps IMO, cloud city anyone :) in 3rd person view.
